The idea behind Kupika is very simple. We want to create a website where its members can participate
in anonymous correspondences between each other. We don't want to create an environment where people
will be "judged" by their photos or testimonials. Instead, we hope every person will be viewed
as "one with potential" regardless of their looks or what other people said about them.
To achieve that goal, we have set some standards:
- We never ask for any information that can be used to identify you
No real names, no photos, no zip codes (let alone your home address), or anything that can be used to identify you. When you create an account, we ask for your email address, but it's optional. You are anonymous.
- Sleek and clean user interface
We keep Kupika clean from irritating ads and annoying scripts/pop-ups. No bloated pages. Usability is our top priority.
- Loose regulation
Every place/community has its own regulation, but in Kupika there are no hard rules. As long as we are all happy there will be no problems. Behave well, and you will enjoy your stay here ^^
We hope you can write anything you want in your correspondences without the fear of its being known by
your friends, co-workers, boyfriends, girlfriends or anyone who has some relationship with you in the physical
world. In Kupika, you create a new identity, separated from the physical world you currently live in.
Kupika is a virtual place across boundaries where you can say anything you want to anyone you choose. Express
your feelings, thoughts, or anything that may need some releasing but you are afraid to do so in the physical world.
Hi! My name is Aris. First of all I'd like to apologize for creating an impression that Kupika is made by a company. It is not. Kupika is developed by one person (that's me). However, I try my best to be professional while still maintaining the personal touch. I use the word "we" throughout the site to create that professional impression -- it would be strange if I used "I" instead!
You can consider me a nerd or a geek; I am quite proud of it. Sometimes I'd like to retreat to a fantasy world where everything happens according to my imagination. There already are lots of community websites (friends networking, matchmaking, penpals, etc.) but most of them don't have that "fantasy" aspect. Once someone uploads his/her photo, or we read some testimonials about the person, our fantasy is destroyed. That's why I created this website.
I think you can see the differences between Kupika and other pen-pal websites. I take pride in my work, so please tell me if you spot any errors. With that said.... well, I wish you enjoy Kupika as much as I enjoy developing it ^_^
